Like something straight out of the movie 2012, a massive earthquake devastated Japan and has created tsunami waves that are landing on the US’s west coast as we speak.
The earthquake is being tagged as the largest in Japan’s history and was followed by at least 19 aftershocks with magnitudes of 6.0.
So far 20 countries have been placed on a Tsunami Alert which include New Zealand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Hawaii, and many others.
Due to advanced detection technology, Japan was able to warn millions of citizens beforehand which helped minimize the impact of this devastating natural disaster. So far, more than 60 people have lost their lives but sadly that number is expected to grow.
