Opens the Hudson-King Foundation

Jennifer Hudson recently announced the development of the Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims. The foundation is named after Hudson’s mother Darnell Hudson Donnerson, brother Jason Hudson and nephew Julian King.

Today is the private funeral for Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew. She is asking in lieu of sending flowers to make a donation to her foundation for slain family members. The purpose for this foundation will help families of murder victims.

She said in a statment:

“The specific purpose of the Foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime,”

”This encompasses their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter as well as grief counseling.”
